About us

WE HAVE HUGE IDEAS

Founded in 2004, LARUS is the Venetian software house specialized in the development of enterprise applications with the latest open-source technologies. We have solved the remoteness between business and IT by building a deep knowledge of the client’s business model. Furthermore, we qualify software as an integral part of the solution, not a mere technical instrument.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AN ENABLING COMPONENT FOR BUSINESS

In recent years, there has been a radical change in the way we look at the role of Information Technology within a company: we can’t anymore consider IT a separated asset from business, the latter with the burden of managing this remoteness, but an enabling component.

The business previously had to adjust itself to fit the remoteness of IT but today scenario is reversed: business is facing difficult challenges due to global competition and IT must be able to support its rapid and continuous evolution.

CLEAR, DEEP AND WIDESPREAD KNOWLEDGE OF CUSTOMER’S BUSINESS MODEL

The new paradigm of considering IT an enabling component for business implies a new way of interpreting consultancy: now, the goal is a clear knowledge of customer’s business model in order to respond effectively and efficiently to their needs.

The CEO of Black & Decker’s once said: “People don’t go into a DIY store because they need one of our drills. They go because they need a hole in the wall”. The same is true for software, that can’t anymore be considered a mere technical instrument, but it has become an integral part of the solution.

Since its origin, this belief connotes the mission of a young Italian company, LARUS BUSINESS AUTOMATION.

Nomen omen: business automation pursued with a strong tension to continuous improvement – an echo of Richard Bach‘s famous novel Jonathan Livingston Seagull (in Latin LARUS means seagull) – and a strong attention to technological (Service Oriented Architecture [1]) and methodological (Business Process Modeling [2]) innovation. Quality expressed with attention in making even more profitable customer’s previous investments (Enterprise Application Integration [3]).
