Building Information Modeling (BIM) is one of the most significant technological advancements in recent years that has been adopted by the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry.
Currently BIM model has been explored mainly for information construction and utilization, but rare works pay efforts to convert BIM into an effective information model able to significantly facilitate exploring and analyzing the BIM highly connected data.
Graph model is useful for data management as it allows to explore, check and analyse the complex relationships inside BIM models, and run complex queries for information retrieval.
Converting BIM models based on the IFC standard into a graph-based effective information model can significantly extracting complex building-related knowledge to deliver cost savings, productivity and operations efficiencies, improved infrastructure quality and better environmental performance.
